I also wrote about it earlier this week but it’s so clearly about valuation vs vision with the fashion houses and the white men save a few are getting stale
Oh, I need to read what you wrote! I completely agree—everything has become commercial. The focus is entirely on constant growth, which is why we're bringing in brand owners who also serve as creative directors to sustain that trajectory, rather than prioritizing the art of luxury fashion.
Demna at Gucci feels like a Hail Mary to resuscitate Q4 sales this year in hopes they can recapture his early Balenciaga magic, and the rest it’s kinda like so much a musical chairs that I’m plain ass bored
Carly, this was so good! Congrats on getting a Blue Bottle, their extra hot oat milk matcha latte is my #1. Hard yes on a Polyvore MBA case study, it's always Apple/Nintendo/Disney/Best Buy and nothing for fashion people. I'm dying to go to Shoptalk one day, would love to hear more about it.
yes oh my god they have the best matcha! even their DTC matcha is my fav. shoptalk has a few versions, there’s a smaller one i believe in Chicago and then one in spain during the summer and now they’re launching a lux version next year in the middle east. It’s great to just go and be around and connect with people- i only went in the last day but their speaker lineup is A1!

"How the loss of early 2000s-mid 2010 boutique culture was the downfall of personal style"
